The big secret to community that all community creators know? Growing an online community takes time. A lot of time. If you're looking for help streamlining time consuming tasks, we have a few ideas for you!

From scheduling messages, to advanced automations, Burb connects the tools in your community toolbox, like Circle, Slack, Discord, Teachable, Gmail, ConvertKit and more. Here are the 10 ways we see community builders using Burb to save themselves time.

1. An automatic community CRM

When you integrate your community platforms with Burb, we'll pull in every member and give you an editable profile. Each profile also allows you to add more details, internal tags for organization, and notes. You'll also be able to see that member's engagement and activity.

From the Members page, you'll be able to see quick stats and also filter members by connected apps:

And even perform bulk actions, like segmenting, sending DMs, and adding tags. We'll show you some more magic you can do with Burb Tags in the next point. For more information on how to manage members, click here.

2. Tagging and segmenting members

With Groups you can get see analytics on a group of members, and use this segmentation to perform bulk actions, or even mass send messages and trigger automations.

Groups works just like a list in a CRM or email marketing tool. This feature is great for course cohorts, or even tracking your most active members. For more information about Tags and Groups, click here.

3. Send a welcome DM

Every party needs a host to introduce new guests to the group, right? Setting up a welcome message through a direct message, is a great and simple way to start automating your operations while also nurturing new connections.

With Burb’s messaging feature you can personalize your message, customize with the text editor and even test it before turning it on. For detailed step-by-step instructions on how to set up an automated welcome message, click here.

4. Schedule a direct message to one or many

Bulk messaging is a great way to follow up with a member or a group of members. Use this to gather feedback or promote an event or program!

By using Burb’s Tags or Groups, you can segment your messages to reach the right audience, at the right time. For detailed step-by-step instructions on how to message one or more members, click here.

5. Schedule one or multiple posts

Community engagement made easy? You got it! You can choose to schedule a single post, or create a sequence of weekly themed posts using our messaging feature. This is also a great way to prepare all the posts you're preparing for a cohort course, for example.

6. Schedule one or many emails

Following the same principles as posts, you can save up time by creating an email sequence that sends to your community members through your Gmail account.

No need for complex email marketing tools, create simple and engaging emails with personalization and images that look like they come right from your laptop.

7. Create an onboarding sequence

What's better than the welcome message? A welcome sequence. This is not only a great way of keeping your new members engaged, but also keeps them educated about the community best practices. You might use one of your emails to ask for feedback, too.

With Burb’s automation, you can trigger based on different apps activities or Burb tags and groups:

Then choose many actions, like waiting, messaging, updating members profiles or taking a new action in the same app or another app you connected.

You can use this feature to message members, and event add them to new spaces. That means you can have a space with your most active members automatically, or segment discussions based on member’s interests.

9. Add a member to channel/space when they join your course
