As the Chief Marketing Officer of your company, you understand better than anyone the importance of building a strong community. A thriving community can provide your company with valuable feedback, new ideas, and a loyal customer base and be a great source of content for your marketing. (There’s a loyal customer base waiting for you to provide profound content by sharing valuable feedback, and new ideas!)

So how do you go about building an engaged community?

Here are 3 ways:

  1. Create your content around your values. First step first, you need to build your community around what is true to you. The big raw fact on the reason you do what you do. What does your company stand for? What kind of people do you want to attract? By being clear values, you’ll create content that attracts the right people and repel the wrong one.
  2. Find Your Platform. Once you know what kind of community you want to build, it's time to find the right platform to match your goals. Do you want to build an online community or a offline community? There are pros and cons to both. An online community gives you a wider reach but an offline community allows for more personal interaction. The best way to decide is by considering what kind of interaction you want with your community members.
  3. Engage, Engage And Engage. Engaging is the key to any successful community. You need to interact with your community members on a regular basis so they can always have something to chew on. There are a number of ways to do this, from hosting events to sending out monthly newsletters. The important thing is that you connect with your audience on a personal level and build a lasting relationship.

It's not always easy to build a strong community. By following these three tips, you're well on your way to building the thriving community you've always wanted.
